Bingo.com is acquired by Unibet Group
Online gambling is abundant in different mergers, purchases and takeovers, so the news about this appeares quite often. 2014 is not the exception. The most remarkable acquisition is certainly made by Amaya with its purchase of Full Tilt and PokerStars, but we would like to look at some other significant deals of 2014 in the online industry.
The revenues of bingo producers are considerably small but its popularity increases daily. So a deal between Unibet Group and www.Bingo.com for $8 million on December, 31, 2014 is considered a rather small in comparison with Amaya’s acquisition.
“The terrible competition existing in the sphere of online gaming makes it almost impossible for small European companies like Bingo.com to operate alongside with huge gambling operators,” told Jason Williams, the Chief Executive Officer of Bingo.com “As a result of this, the company Bingo.com decided that in the interest of the company is selling its online business, brand name and URL to one of the largest gambling providers, Unibet Group which offered rather fair conditions during the negotiations.”
Unibet Group is the largest igaming provider in the European market founded in 1997 and listed in NASDAQ QMX Stockholm. 9,5 million people in 100 countries enjoy gambling with Unibet in 22 languages of the world.
